OUR NEWEST DEACON: Br. Raban Heyer was ordained as a transitional deacon for our monastic community on Saturday, July 15th. Before monastic life, Brother Raban attended Benedictine College in Kansas and later worked as a schoolteacher in Pine Bluff, AR, and in Little Rock, AR. He professed his vows as a monk of our community in 2016. His monastic assignments have ranged from vocation work, academy faculty member, and athletic coach for cross country and track/field. He also took time to attend the University of the Ozarks for classes and completed his Masters in English from Dominican University. He will now complete his last year of seminary studies at the Pontificio Sant’Anselmo in Rome as he moves toward ordination to the priesthood. One of the blessings of monastic life is the great multitude of assignments that one may undertake in a monk’s life. Keep Br. Raban and our monastic community in your prayers. UIOGD!
