From the earliest days of our monastery, our monks have learned to use the gifts of the land to our advantage. First, as good stewards of creation we continue to cultivate the land by our planting of trees for lumber. Next, we maintain a sawmill where we harvest and cut that lumber for use around the abbey. Today the cutting is overseen by Fr. Patrick and Fr. Jerome. Finally, Br. Jude, Father Jerome, and Br. Adrian, are usually found in the carpenter shop, where they not only work on their woodworking hobbies, but also use their gifts to repair items throughout the monastery and academy, as well as make items for purchase through our stores.
